PERMANENT POSITION - We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect.

As a Solution Architect, you will be at the forefront of shaping our technology landscape, ensuring consistency, innovation, and seamless integration. You will work cross-functionally with developers, analysts, infrastructure teams, and project managers to design best-in-class solutions that drive business success.

 

Your Impact & Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Solution Architecture Design – Define and document solution architecture (functional, technical, security, integration, etc.) ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Define & Promote Architectural Standards – Establish long-term technology roadmaps and enforce best practices across teams.
  • Guide Implementation – Oversee the execution of solution designs, ensuring compliance with defined architectures and technology choices.
  • Drive Innovation – Stay ahead of technology trends and introduce best practices in software development and IT infrastructure.
  • Collaboration & Leadership – Work closely with developers, analysts, infrastructure architects, and security experts to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Strategic Decision-Making – Provide technical recommendations to project managers and senior leadership, influencing key IT strategies.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Act as a trusted expert and mentor within the organization.
  • Drive process improvements and contribute to architecture decision-making.
  • Take ownership of critical projects and external collaborations.
  • Establish a deep understanding of the company’s applications and architecture methodology within the first 3 months.

 What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: Master’s degree in IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 10+ years in IT (Developer, Analyst, IT Project Manager, or Architect).
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of software development practices, IT architecture, and technology trends.
  • Languages: Fluent in either French or Dutch (with at least passive knowledge of the other), and proficient in English (written).
  • Tools & Processes: Experience with Project Management Processes, Enterprise Architect, Confluence.
  •  Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Job Overview

The job

Given an increasing demand for digital solutions, we are looking for a Solutions Architect that is responsible for the architectural aspects of solutions for notaries and citizens that are designed-built-delivered within a specific business domain. You will be part of an agile team with full product lifecycle responsibility and you will work in close collaboration with the product owners, agile coach and the DevOps teams in your domain. Together with your team members you are committed and proud to deliver the best solutions for your customers.



You are responsible to

· Define the technology roadmap of your products – in close collaboration with the DevOps teams – and make sure that those roadmaps are aligned with the long-term architectural view defined by the architecture chapter.

· Challenge existing products and propose enhancements/refactoring to meet the latest architectural guidelines (technical, technological, infrastructure, integration, security…)

· Communicate and champion the architectural and technical vision for your products in the various organizational fora (e.g. chapter meetings, QBR/PI-planning sessions, grooming sessions, ....)

· Be a guardian for the information and domain architecture within your business domain, using domain-driven design principles, patterns, and techniques.

· Support the DevOps teams in realizing the architectural vision and roadmap

· Align business and technical needs for your products and the solutions that you design

· Create and maintain the solution design of your team’s products. Design composition/de-composition of your solutions in/from components/services/products.

· Be a custodian of “Quality by design” using design techniques based on quality attributes (non-functional requirements)

· Actively manage the technical debt of the products/solutions in your business domain

· Ensure that solutions implemented by the DevOps teams reflect your architectural requirements.

· Actively participate in the Architecture Chapter working, in which the architectural principles and roadmaps are defined and evangelize that long term architectural view throughout the organization

· Ensure that the architectural epics are prioritized in the domain and chapter backlogs and that the architecture decision records (ADR) are logged.



You have / are

· A Master degree in IT or Computer Science or have a related experience

· Proven experience (min 5 Yr) in solution architecture, information modeling, design by quality attributes (e.g. security, performance, resilience, .. ), building integration and distributed solutions, and scaled agile development methodologies.

· A good background of the following : full stack development technologies, cloud native architecture, Java/Spring application development, Cloud platforms (GCP preferably), REST API’s, CI/CD tooling

· Change agent

· A dynamic, excellent communicator, able to align all different stakeholders and take the lead in discussions/decisions

· Professional proficiency of IT-related English and good understanding of Dutch or French

· Comfortable to work in self organizing teams with result accountability

· Open minded to new ideas

· Pro-active, autonomous and a flexible thinker with a “can do” mindset
